What countries fought during the Opium wars?

The Opium wars took place in 1839 to 1841.

British Countries specifically Britain fought with China during Opium wars. The war was the result as Britain started exporting opium from India due to trade deficit from China. On the contrary, China officials made strict rules on opium usage and distribution because China faced trade deficit from Britain & since the opium was illegal in Britain leading to opium war.

The combatant countries in the Opium Wars were China and Great Britain. The primary trigger was the seizure of a quantity of opium by the Chinese government from British traders. China wished to control imports and restrict the movements of foreigners.

Base on what i read from one article, the countries who fought during opuim wars were China under the qing dynasty and british empire after the inauguration of the canton system in 1956 which restricted trade to one fort and did not allow foreign entrance to china. These was is also called as Anglo-chinese war.
