This means that it can't find any hard drives that have a boot sector - in other words, something that tells your computer it has an operating system and how to go about loading it up. The operating system might have been deleted, the boot sector could have been corrupted, or the connection could simply be faulty or broken.

Whenever your computer boots, it searches -for devices with information on what and how to boot. This mostly is your primary (built-in) hard drive, containing Windows. If your computer doens't find such a device, it could indicate a corrupt hard drive. You could try installing a new hard drive, or reinstalling Windows. Or just going to a service point!

Most likely, your BIOS isn't set correctly and needs adjusting to see your hard drive or CD/DVD drive. Your operating system could be corrupt as a result of faulty hardware or viruses, and either needs to be recovered, reinstalled, or the drive replaced.

If your computer used to work before but is giving this message now, then usually its just a faulty connection. You should try checking if your Hard-Disk-drive is connected properly.
