Many babies like to suck on their fingers which may cause blistering. Even though you may not see the baby sucking on his or her fingers they do it a lot while sleeping. Another cause may be from crawling on somewhat abrasive surfaces such as concrete while outside on a driveway or sidewalk.

It could be an allergy to something he's touching, such as laundry detergent, soaps, or lotions. Or if teething, he could be biting them.

I would check your child's mouth and feet. This may be hand foot and mouth disease. It is common and usually accompanied by a fever.
