What could cause chest pain that it lasts three hours?

Chest pain is so vague that it could be caused by so many things. If it only lasts a few hours, I would guess it was anxiety or stress related.

Most common causes of short term chest pain are angina pectoris or acid reflux. Angina is caused by lack of oxygen the heart needs and what is actually received. With acid reflux, the heartburn is perceived as a pain in the chest.

Mild or moderate heart attacks can often cause chest pain over the course of several hours. If you have chest pain that does not cease seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Whatever the cause, you need to see a doctor right away, especially if you have any other reasons for concern.
