What could be wrong if my starter makes a clicking noise?

When I crank my car it makes a clicking noise.

It sounds as if your starter has gone out. You should probably go ahead and get a new one or your car is not going to work for much longer.

Insufficient battery voltage. The clicking noise that you hear is the solenoid trying to activate without enough voltage to completely engage the starter drive.

If the car has not been in use for ages the clicking noise would be there. check the battery mode before starting as it could find an important place in your problem. The authenticated problem for the clicking noise could be the less action or no action of your starters. check and ride
