What could be the cause of my car turning over and not starting?

Battery voltage should be check, it must be reading over 12 volts while cranking. Corroded cables is one of the possible cause. Check also cable, make sure the ground is secure to the block.

It could either be your battery is dying or is dead, or your alternator is going bad. You will want to have your vehicle checked by getting a diagnostic ran. It could possible be that the charging component in your alternator has stopped functioning correctly and you will have to fix the whole unit.

Not know more about the car I would say it could be one of to things. It isn't getting fuel or ignition. So I would do a check of both system. Hake sure the engine is getting gas and the spark plugs are firing.
