Blood in the bowels is actually very common. If it's bright red it might be something as simple as constipation, anal fissures, or hemorrhoids. If it's darker, then it could be an ulcer. If it's excessive or painful, you should consult a doctor right away. If it's infrequent, it'll most likely go away on it's own.

Blood in the stool can be caused by a non-threatening condition such as hemorrhoids but it could also be something more serious like internal bleeding. Get checked by a physician.

Bloody stool could be a sign of many conditions. The color of the blood indicates the problem location. Bright red is near the anus and darker further in the gut.

Blood in the bowels can be a sign of constipation. If you aren't drinking alot of fluids, this could cause it. If it continues, I would advise seeing your doctor.
