Acne in newborns is actually quite common. A baby's hormonal system is still developing, and oversecretion of oils on the skin is normal in the weeks following birth. This causes some clogged pores, and acne. It should resolve on it's own, and the skin will clear up over time. If not, you can discuss with a doctor.

Most likely, the newborn's acne is caused by hormones passed from mother to baby in the last stage of pregnancy. Newborn acne can be irritated by contact with spit up, formula, rough fabrics, harsh detergents, and soaps. Certain viral illnesses, allergies, and medications can cause an acne-like rash, so i would be wise to consult the baby's physician.

Newborn-acne is actually very common! (about 20%-of-newborns) After delivery, a mom's hormones continue to linger on baby, which stimulates baby's sebaceous(oil) glands and cause the skin to form pimple-like-bumps(neonatal acne)

This is somewhat common - it can be triggered by taking medications while nursing, using soaps and oils that have fragrances or other harsh chemicals in them, washing the baby's linens in harsh detergents, or hormones passed on during childbirth.

Dr's say it's hormonal and there is nothing you can do about it. Use baby soap and water and it will go away on it's own but takes awhile.

I do not know the specific cause, but what I can tell you is that acne in babies is very common. It is nothing to worry about, just keep it clean and free of irritants and it will go away.

Babies do get what look like pimples. It will go away though and it's nothing to worry about. If they are on his chin or cheeks they will go away. If the pimples are on the scalp though it could be a more serious condition called Cradle Cap and you can have the doctor check that.

It can not be acne it should be a skin rash or your baby is probably allergic to one of the products you are using on the baby's skin, Maybe the kind of lotion, bath gel or powder.
