What could be the cause of a squealing belt in a Ford Taurus?

Anytime your belts are either loose or warn out they may start to squeal. The best way to stop this is to replace them.

It is caused by engine accessory driven by a drive belt,if there is no belt there is no movement and squealing. We can lubricate gears or chains to quiet squealing. The common cause will be belt tensioner with a dry bearing.

This could be caused by a few things: An old belt, a worn accessory bearing, or an too loose/tight belt. Replace the belt making sure it has the correct amount of tension.
