The 2 main causes of any amrine engine overheating are low or blocked oil flow and blocked waterflow. Both of these should be checked by a professional marine mechanic. You can check for low oil yourself as this also will cause overheating. Just pull the dipstick out and check that the oil level is between the safe marks.

because the boats weigh so much and they dont use a big enough engine,ontop of that there usually inboard engines and tend to build up heat quicker when inclosed
