Depending on the type, some foliage colors range from blue-green to gray and in some cases golden. The blue-green is part of the blue spruce family. In either case, the trees make a beautiful ornament accessory in landscaping and does very well in warm climates with poor soil. The varigated needles add a touch of lovely color.

The dwarf Japanese White Pine has needles that are blue-green in color. It is a slow growing dwarf tree that is excellent for small yards with full sun.

I think that the needles are green even though it is called a "white pine". They resemble a bonsai tree in my opinion! Judging from the ones I have looked at to add to my pond, they have distinct character and I would consider adding one but I am not sure of their ability to grow in my hardiness zone.
