Columbia is sub-tropical and tropical. The Equator runs through the southern part of the country. Wear natural fibers in light colors. Take along a brimmed hat and sunscreen. The temperatures are usually in the 90s and can exceed 100 degrees F with high humidity. The sun is brilliant most days.

You should wear shorts and easy cotton breathable t shirts or dress shirts. That will get you through the summer. Use lots of sunscreen.

It can be chilly in Bogota, even in the summer, because it's at such a high elevation. So, you should have a sweater or jacket. More important, though, you should be prepared to dress up a little. Bogota is a lovely, sophisticated city, and people there tend to dress well.

Bogota can get quite warm in the summer months with temperatures easily above 80 degrees. The humidity can also make it feel worse. Colombian culture is not overly conservative and so short skirts, spaghetti straps are ok. For men, shorts and hawaiian shirts should pose no problems. As a general rule, comfortable and light clothing should be ok.

Stick with natural fibers, lighter fabrics and lighter colors. Cotton and linen are good choices. Loose fitting clothing is more comfortable. There are websites that sell clothing designed for more tropical locations. The fabrics are designed to breathe and to pack easily to stay fairly wrinkle-free, and to laundry easily. Try TravelSmith.

Comfortable clothes: T-shirts, shirts, pants, and items that can be washed easily. Have a hat and a scarf both for the sun and the wind. Summer tends to be a wet season so bring a raincoat and comfortable shoes. Temperatures will be in the 60's range so take a sweater and jacket to bridge the daily temperature range.

The temperature hovers at around 55ºF in the morning, and about 65ºF in the afternoon. The temperatures are pretty uniform throughout the year. Have an umbrella and/or rain coat with you at all times, as it rains quite often, especially in April-May. Dress in layers and make sure you have rain gear!

The type of clothing you wear will depend on the activities you have planned and the type of weather. Wear layers and clothing made of quick-dry material.

Wear something light like a singlet or shorts but remember to be sunsafe! Also wear light colours because it is also very hot there. Have fun if you are going there! ;-)

Although Colombia can be very hot in the summer, Bogota is a higher elevation and can get a little chilly. Bring a jacket and wear lots of sunscreen. It is a nice city and people tend to dress very well there. TO fit in you may want to foolw suit and wear something a little nicer.
