The streaks of chigger bites are inflamed lymph vessels. This can happen when you have an immune reaction to the bite. As fluids drain away from the bite through the lymph vessels, the antigens from the chigger travel with them, and incite more immune reaction within the vessel, which causes inflammation.

Chigger bites cause small red spots on the skin. The bites itch terribly so streaks could result from scratching but streaking could be a symptom of a potentially serious infection.

It's mostly due to the teeth. Their front molars exert a lot of centrifugal force on the skin which causes the bites to appear streaky. If it's really bothering you, you could get some camomine lotion to help make it less itchy. I also would try some aloe! Of course, also try to kill the chiggers!
