The sharp pain could be a muscle cramp, try eating foods that are hign in Potassium such as Bananas, or potatoes.

I think to determine the answer to this you need to be specific. Sharp pains in different areas of the body can mean different things.

This would depend on where the pain is. If it is in the lower abdomen then kidney or appendix infection.
