What causes plant extinction?

I thought it could only happen to animals.

Similar to animal extinction, plants can go extinct because they are no longer suited to live in their environment, if they are collected or harvested by humans, or eaten by animals. For example, if the area that a fern lives in dries out drastically, it may not be able to live and pass on genes, so it goes extinct.

The same things that cause animals to become extinct cause plants to become extinct: disease, over-predation (grazing) parasites, global warming, loss of habitat to development, loss of pollinators, invasive species...
