The 'lump' is likely a swollen lymph node. They are part of a network of nodes and ducts that move white blood cells and various fluids around our bodies. Swelling indicates an excess of contaminated material built up with in and is generally an indication of an infection. As does the fever, though what kind isn't possible to diagnose online.

THe large lump you feel under your armpit is most likely a swollen lymph node. Your lymph node tends to get swollen when your body is fighting off some kind of an infection. The fever is also a sign of an infection in your body.

This is probably a swollen lymph gland. together with the fever, it is likely to indicate an infection. If there are other symptoms, particularly exhaustion, and they persist, do see a physician. These are, among many other possibilities, symptoms of mononucleosis. Various cancers, such as lymphoma, may present swollen nodes but are less likely to cause fevers.
