Sore muscles can spasm in dogs and taht should be massaged and that can be enough to prevent the spasm. The animal should also rest for a while after this in order to prevent the spasm from returning and to allow it to heal properly so it does not come back.

Most dog muscle spasms occur due to a back injury although there is several other culprits that should be taken into consideration and discussed with a veterinarian. Some of the other causes of dog spasms could include; Canine epilepsy, hypoglycemia, & Degenerative myelopathy as well as several others.
