Well the car with the best mileage so far according to the EPA is the Toyota Prius with 51 city and 48 highway miles to the gallon. The Civic Hybrid gets gets 40 city and 45 highway. Next is the Smart fourtwo Coupe and convertible with 33 city and 41 highway.
Right now the cars with the best miles per gallon is the hybrid vehicles. Toyota prius is claiming over 60mpg in there hybrid version. Rumors of a honda hybrid getting closer to 66mpg have also been heard.
Some of the cars which have the best MPG fuel efficiency are: Geo Prizm, Geo Metro, Toyota Carolla, Toyota Prius, Toyota Echo, Toyota Yaris, Honda Civic, Honda Civic hybrid and the Ford Focus.
