The Mohawk Indians are from northern New York, Southern Ontario and Quebec, as well as Western Vermont. The were members of the Iroquois league and were the keepers of the eastern door. Now they are located mostly in upstate New York where they operate the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. There are currently around 50,000 members of the tribe.

The Mohawk Indians are from what is now New York State and Ontario and Quebec in Canada. There are still Mohawk reservations, with parts in both New York State and Canada, stretching across and along the St. Lawrence River. Smaller groups also live around Lake Ontario. About 10,000 people identify with that tribe in the United States.
