What can you tell me about soffets and insulation?

The soffit is the area over the eave of a roof and is there to provide air flow for the roof. Don't put any insulation in or near the soffit or you will stop the air flow with the roof vents and the natural heating and cooling that occurs within the roof structure.

Generally speaking you want to keep the insulation out of your soffets. There is no reason for it to be there and the soffet allows the house to breathe a little bit.
