The obvious advantage is that it makes the floor temperature more even and thus you're more comfortable. it's got sound insulating properties too so you have quieter spaces - so the noise of ids playing in the basement does not hit your main room!!

Icynene insulation is a spray on type of foam insulant. Advantages include uniformity, which increases its R value, as well as excellent sound and moisture blocking properties. It is estimated that this type of insulation can improve heating bills by as much as 50%. There is however, some risk of allergy development.

This sort of insulation can help you save money on your heating bill. It also adds to a brilliant form of sound absorption. And most of all this version of iceynene doesn't have asbestos in it.

The old icynene insulation did have asbestos which has been banned by the EPA. Modern icynene insulation is fine, just not as high an R factor.

I've heard people claiming a 50% reduction in their heating expenses after using icynene. I dunno if it's ust mareting stuff tough! But beware of gaps developing in the insulation. I also find the mixing technique a bit difficult - other brands eem easier.

Energy saving is pretty true. The HVAC aso works at a cooler temp and is more efficient if you use icynene. Another plus point is that it's easy to detect sources of leaks when you se icynene!  add a comment
