Political power is the power of the law and thus police and soldiers to enforce the power, unlike raw power where someone with a gun comes to take but does not have legal (and thus social) justification for it. Influence, in contrast, is emotional and without force.

Political power is the ability to make decisions for other people. But if a person gets too self absorbed about their power, the voters sense it and vote them out.
