Standard unit of mass and volume in metric unit is gram and liter respectively. 1000gram is equal to 1kilogram and 1000 cubic centimeter or 1000 milliliter is 1 liter. milligram, centigram, decigram, kilogram and , milliliter, centiliter, deciliter and kiloliter are also other units of measure for mass and volume respectively in metric units.

Measuring mass is in kg and volume in cubic metre. volume is a three dimensional unit system,hence the cubic term. mass generally neglect the gravity of earth. but volume consider the gravity of earth.
