What can you tell me about installing all-wheel drive on a Ford Explorer Sportrac?

It's going to be expensive for sure. Probably upwards of 2,000 dollars for this level of auto-motive work. You should shop around.

Most of the AWD options are going to be a very large job. If AWD is not installed on the car to begin with, it's probably a very large job.

If your vehicle is not an all-wheel drive then you will need a donor vehicle that does have all-wheel drive. You usually are better off buying one than converting one, but if you do have a donor vehicle it can be done. You can swap out the parts from the donor to your vehicle.

It will require a lot of work and you will need a lot of mechanical knowledge to do it. It will involve a lot of time and money.

This is pretty much an expensive job in which will run you up to $2000 dollars. Shop around and compare prices. AWD needs to be installed on the car. This will have to be installed due to very large job. Its best to get a professional dealer or mechanic to do work if help is needed.
