What can you tell me about hangover pills? Do they really work?

I see ads but I don't know if they're for real.

There are a variety of products. Most help stall off the effects of the alcohol, which eventually catches up the next day with the headache and nausea of dehydration. There are multiple reports of their lack of effectiveness.

Most hangover remedies don't work in general. Pills rarely work, and the reason they sometimes do is because people increase their water intake. Its basically a placebo so you stay hydrated. The best thing to do is to drink a lot of water when before you fall asleep for the night.

Some hangover remedies contain B vitamins and you have to take them with water, so they might work a bit because alcohol causes dehydration and also depletes the body of B-vitamins. It is actually best to take a B-vitamin before you go to sleep with a large glass of water and that will limit the hangover.

These pills can be found online on websites. Often, they can be found at gas stations, and also tobacco stores where they sell water pipes. Although these pills sometimes work, they are not a miracle cure. These pills usually contain large amounts of caffeine. For a cheaper alternative, you could also use Excedrine or Mydol.
