Most hangover remedies don't work in general. Pills rarely work, and the reason they sometimes do is because people increase their water intake. Its basically a placebo so you stay hydrated. The best thing to do is to drink a lot of water when before you fall asleep for the night.

Some hangover remedies contain B vitamins and you have to take them with water, so they might work a bit because alcohol causes dehydration and also depletes the body of B-vitamins. It is actually best to take a B-vitamin before you go to sleep with a large glass of water and that will limit the hangover.

Although these pills sometimes work, they are not a miracle cure. These pills usually contain large amounts of caffeine. For a cheaper alternative, you could also use Excedrine or Mydol.
