Clean the seed and let it dry out for a few days. Remove the husk and gently place two toothpicks-one on each side. Suspend bottom half in glass of water.

Once you have eaten the manngo, be sure and let the pit (seed) dry out before planting, otherwise it may rot in the ground. Be advised that odds are you will need another tree to polinate your mango tree to ever produce mangoes.

First, scrape off the excess flesh from the hairy husk of the pit. Pry open pit and find a smaller seed, like a small lima bean. Plant this in soil.

Start off by placing the mango pit in a clear plastic cup with about half an inch of water followed by 5 cotton balls. Keep the pit moist and placed in direct sunlight on a window sill. The pit will begin to sprout in less than a week. Once sprouts appear you can plant it in soil.

It's a great idea and it facilitates the growth of the mangoes. I've grown many mangoes in this sort of fashion.
