Frank Moss Bennett was born in England, in 1874. He studied at the Royal Academy School of Art and became famous for his historically-themed paintings, such as Tea and Scandal (1938). He attempted to be very accurate, using clothes and furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries. Some of his paintings were later used as calendars.
