What can you learn from anterior mediastinal soft tissue density tests?

Studies show that 80-90% of mediastinal tumors and 95–100% of anterior tumors can be caught using the test. It can be used to examine the center of the chest and the lymph nodes and also determine whether a cancer has spread from the original spot it was found.

My friend had the one with the scope so they could remove some tissue for a biopsy. I remember her calling me and telling me they had learned so much from that test. They told her that her growth was benign had calcafication. Not sure of the spelling on that.

You can learn from the anterior mediastinal soft tissue density test what type of tumor or growth might be there, where it is located, if it is benign or malignant and if it is treatable or will require surgery. This test can be done with a scope so non-invasive.

I was told that I have soft tissue density in the anterior mediastinum is consistent with thymus....I am so confused on what it means.
