What can you do about a thuja tree that has fertilizer burn?

I seem to have damaged my tree.

There is not much you can do. Cut off dead branchs, try repotting or moving it from where it is, clean off all the dirt when you do. It may recover but will never be the same because it weakens it. You can try flooding it with water, or call the extension office for a neutralizer.

If over half of the tree appears damaged, there is nothing you can do. If not, then prune off the affected areas, and re-pot it in soil without fertilizer.

It depends on the extent of the damage. Is only 10-15% burned or the whole thing? Anything about 50% burn and you are looking at fighting a losing battle. It is easier to combat under fertilization than over. If not a lot if burned, try pruning affected areas.

Water it often to help dilute the fertilizer. That is really all you can do for it and make sure you do no fertilize any more.

There really isn't anything you can do until the fertilizer is totally gone but do not fertilize them at all. Once that happens only use slow release fertilizers and never during the dry season. And make sure you don't use strong fertilizers until they are established.

Preventing fertilizer burn is easier then remedying the situation, only fertilize thuja trees during their growth period, from spring through summer. To help the new growth from having the burn, rinse the soil thoroughly and if possible, replant the tree in soil without fertilizer. Replant while the tree is dormant in the early winter.
