What can make the battery light come on in my truck?

If the light is on all the time, check to make sure the alternator belt is tight. If it is tight, it could need the alternator or voltage regulator replaced.

Either there is a problem with your battery or possible the charging system. You may want to take it down to your local shop and have them run load tests on you charging system and battery.

There are a few things, the battery could be running out of juice and will die soon, the altinator could be dead and the car is running on the battery, or you haven't started the engine.

One possibility is the battery is dead due to the alternator not putting a full charge of 13. 6 volts to the battery.

this could mean that the battery is weak and needs to be charged or replaced. check altenator also to see if it is working.
