There are alot of things you can do with an old system, if it works. Charities for Children, daycares or even childrens hospitals might be happy to take your old system off your hands.

Many charities will accept old consoles for donations, although they may have to have it checked out by an electrician for legal reasons. If you have a particular charity in mind, and they don't have an electrician then it may be best to sell it yourself and donate the proceeds as most charity shops throw away what they cannot sell.
