Keep a dry dressing, like a band aid or gauze, over it with some antibiotic ointment for the first few days. Change this dressing daily. After a few days, leave the cyst covered during the day but let it air dry at night.
The first and foremost thing to is to avoid having an infection. Clean the cyst with an antiseptic solution, you can either apply neosporin or betadine cream on it and cover it.
