Many women find relief from painful periods through decreasing their intake of caffeine, getting exercise, and watching their diet. When these methods and other amelioration, such as ibuprofen and heating pads, don't help, some women turn to hormonal birth control pills. Beyond their nominal effects, these pills can also regulate the hormones that cause painful periods.

Increase your consumption of foods that have vitamin B in them. Also, eat foods with calcium and magnesium. Take vitamins containing calcium and magnesium.

Simple over the counter pain relievers, physical activity, a warm bath and supplementing your diet with zinc and calcium should calm the pain. If the pain continues consult a Dr.

Go to the doctor, because that could indicate a very serious problem. You could have ovarian cysts or endometriosis or bother. Demand a CT scan and an ultra sound, ASAP.
