What can I do about a compressor gone bad in a Ford Focus?

The compressor will eventually go bad in any vehicle, you simply want to build a new or rebuilt compressor and just put it in where the old one was. You will have to remove the belts and the wiring that connects to the thermostat but should be easy enough. And then replace the compressor.

When the compressor goes bad it will have to replaced. You can go back to the company manafacture to get the part or go with a cheaper after market compressor from your local parts store. I'd recommend taking it to a garage to have the compressor put on.

For best results, contact a certified A/C technician. The compressor may have a bad clutch, faulty fuse/electric relay system, stuck belt, or low refrigerant level.

If the air conditioning compressor is bad it will need to be replaced. You can probably rebuild it if there is a kit available but this will be labor intensive.

Unfortunately your options are limited. You either ignore the problem and run with out A/C or you replace the compressor and recharge the A/C system.

you are going to need to talk to an auto mechanic and getting a pricing quote. I would talk to several different onces before you actually make you decision of who you go with.
