I would check your water heater and drain the sediment in the bottom using the faucet on the bottom of the tank.

Pour a small amount of bleach into the opening and then flush with really hot water for about ten minutes. Vinegar may also work.

Could it be time to pump your septic system? Somtimes if your pipes back up in your house it can cause a fowl smelling odor to circulate in your house. Immediatly getting the problem fixed is the first step. After that you can try leaving the windows open to air out the house and use candles and airfreshners.

If the smell is coming from the kitchen drain, run a lot of cut up oranges through the disposal. Elsewhere, try using a vinegar and baking soda foaming mixture.
