Usually tingly hands are caused by the circulation being cut off for a short period of time. This can happen if you are leaning on them funny. It can also be caused by pinched nerves in the neck and back which can be relieved by a chiropractor. See a doctor if symptoms persist.

Tingling hands can be caused by: alcohol abuse, carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, lead poisoning, metabolic disorders and thiamine or vitamin B12 deficiencies among others.

Tingly hands can be a symptom of long term diabetes or vitamin deficiencies. Injury to the nerve supplying the arms from any cause can lead to tingly hands
