If you are in a profession that involves typing or repetitive hand motions you may have carpal tunnel syndrome. The nerves in the wrist and sometimes in the elbows get compressed and inflamed causing pain, numbness, or both. Prior injury to the arms including dislocated shoulders may also cause pain in the forearm region.

It is very possible you strained some of the muscles in your forearm, being your forearms are used for every form of arm movement.

Two common causes of forearm pain are carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis. Tendonitis in the elbow can send radiating pain down the forearm and into the wrist.
