Unfortunately, skin nerve damage will either heal on its own through normal healing processes or it will not heal. There is limited interventions that a neurologist can take to fix this problem because it is thought that most nerve cells do not regenerate on their own. Good luck with your healing process!

Nerve damage is either permanent or temporary, but in either case there isn't much you can do. It depends on the cause, really. Some types of nerve damage will go away with time, while others will not. Sometimes there are drugs that can be taken for symptoms, and B vitamins will help to regenerate nerves, but there's no set cure.

I have also had skin nerve damage from surgery on a spot of skin cancer. It actually repaired itself after about 6 months. I massaged it daily and that may have helped!

Nerves are not actually on the exterior, but below the surface. Typically, nothing can be done once nerve damage occurs if sensitivity to the area has been lost.
