The most common procedure to fix this problem is to fuse the two vertabrae together. This is normally done by a neurologist who will remove the bulging disk, then place a bone graft between the 2 vertabrae and attach a metal plate to hold them together. It's a common procedure.

Surgery if it is causing serious discomfort. Sometimes nerve route injections can help. I had the same problem. Doctors let it go on for too long had to get surgery. By then I had damage to nerves because disc bulge had pressed on nerve over a long period of time. Surgery removes bulge to free pressure on nerves.

The best way to help with bulging disks is physical therapy. There are simple exercises you can find on the internet to help stretch out your back, which will help heal your bulge.

Conservative treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic, and decompression are best to start with. More invasive techniques would be possible nerve blocks or surgery to replace the disc.

You need to see a doctor and get a professional opinion on the best treatment plan for it anything else can cause the injury to worsen.
