What can be done about 2 dogs fighting at home?

You could try seeking the help of a behavior specialist or someone who will help train them to behavior correctly. I would pay attention to what seems to cause the spikes in fighting and see if you could ajust their situation accordingly. Sadly sometimes dogs can not live together and I would search super carefully to rehome if need be.

Establish clear leadership over both dogs. Separate and slowly desensitize them to each other, rewarding the dogs with treats the closer they get to each other to form positive associations.

It sounds like the dogs are fighting for dominance. If they are, there is very little you can do. About the only safe thing you can do in this situation is to keep them seperated. It might work if you would slowly introduce the dogs again with your supervision. After awhile some dogs finally learn to get along.

You must separate them. Put them in their separate kennels and make sure that they know fighting is wrong. Give them a tap on the nose and say "BAD" then put them in there kennel for about 30 minutes. Repeat if necessary.

A common cause of dogs fighting is trying to establish a hierarchy,that includes you. A dog will feel it needs to be a leader if there is no human leader. are either of them desexed? this will be a good first step if they are not. If you are looking to breed them, you can commision seperate cages for them.

The dogs might be at the position that both want to be a pack leader and this has to stop imidiately. The owner is the only pack leader and the dog must obay. If there are two grown dogs the therapy is maybe the only solution for them to stop fighting.

The dogs need to know that you're the alpha and they have to listen to you. Whenever you aren't around to supervise, they need to be separated, either in separate crates or in separate rooms.

If both dogs are male, they may be fighting for dominance. Having both dogs neutered could help with this. They could also have anxiety issues, or may feel as if they're not getting attention. Your best bet is to make sure they get plenty of exercise and consult your vet.

We need to be sure that they are fighting and not playing. Usualy they play as if they are fighting, but in that coarse, they never hurt eachother. Usually if any fights start then that could be for food, so what I suggest that, feed them in two seperate bowls and not close to each other.

A good thing to do to make them stop would be to tie them up in different sides of the yard and gradually bring them closer.
