Sighthounds, such as Salukis, Greyhounds, Afghan hounds, Basenjis, Irish Wolfhounds, Scottish Deerhounds, Whippets, and other breeds that hunt by sight, are usually best at lure coursing.
Of the sight hounds used in coursing greyhounds are among the most important breeds as they are the fastest and the most numerous of the sighthounds typically raced. Whippets and other sighthounds including the Irish Wolfhound are also run in coursing events.
Depends what type of course you mean. Whippets, greyhounds, Basenji's, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, are all in the top in lure coursing as are all and any of the hounds. Agility coursing encompasses almost every breed. I would check with your breed club to see what events your dog may excel in.
