Middle Eastern conflicts are as old as recorded human history, so determining a specific starting point is difficult. However, competition for resources and difference of religions are prime contributing factors.

Conflicts in the middle East have been going on for years, however the boiling point was the 1967 6 day war. Egypt, Jordan, Syria did a surprise attack on Israel, Israel defended it's land and gained some land as a result of this battle.
