Tree borers are insects that bore or tunnel deep into the wood of trees or under the bark of trees. Infestations by some tree borer types can be fatal to affected trees. Although affected trees may sometimes be saved, removal is sometimes necessary to avoid spread of the infestation.

Wood boring insects are serious pests and can be fatal to an infected tree. They cause damage by laying their eggs on the bark, then the larvae dig into the core of the trunk, leaving a network of tunnels all throughout the tree. Luckily you can kill the insects with carefully applied insecticide.
