What are they doing with the World Trade Center site?

There has been many suggestions and debates on what to actually put on the World Trade Center site; many wanted strictly a memorial for those who died on 9/11. It is now thought that a new 'Freedom Tower' will be built in the area, but there is still questions on what will be built in the end.

They are currently trying to firm up plans to rebuild the Freedom Towers. However, nothing has really been done considering we will be observing the 10th anniversary next year.
