Military Payment Certificates were a form of currency in circulation among American military personnel stationed abroad between 1945 and 1973. MPCs to prevent GIs from inflating the money supply of local currencies in post-war Europe. Personnel paid with MPCs either redeem the certificates at face value for US dollars once stateside or into the local currency while off-duty.

Military payment certificates (MPCs) were used from 1946 to 1973. MPCs were issue to prevent large amount of US currency from being circulated outside the US. MPCs are highly collectible.

US military Payment certificates, were pieces of paper that were used to pay foreigners when "cash money" wasn't readily available. They have also been known as "blood chits".

Military Payment Certificates were used for a few months after WWII and after the end of the Vietnam War. MPCs were a form of currency issued to military personnel in foreign countries to minimize the amount of U.S. currency in circulation. Fifteen MPC series were created; 14 were used.
