There are many types of USB cables. They vary by length and size. The head of USB cables generally remains the same; it (universal serial port) can be used anywhere. There is one exception to that rule. Most printers and other electronic devices use a A-B usb cable, with the B sized head smaller than the standard USB.
USB-A (common USB), USB-B (printer cables), and Micro USB (come in A, B, and A-B varieties) are common. USB 3, also known as hyperspeed, is a new USB type.
