What are the symptoms of HIV?

Not AIDS--but HIV.

There aren't any. The only sure way to know if you have it is to get tested (some places they're free). Call your doctor for one. HIV is the dormant stage of AIDS. You only see the bad effects when it becomes AIDS. It can be dormant for years.

There are many symptoms of HIV. Some of them include but are not limited to: fever, rash, swollen glands, muscle aches, weigh loss, fatigue, diarrhea, and poor appetite. There can be some respiratory symptoms, such as shortness of breath and coughing. Some may get flu-like symptoms when infected with HIV.

Some symptoms for a recent infection for HIV can be Retroviral syndrome that is like a flu but in can be suspected if the patient have some risk factor.

HIV causes a viral like illness. This means you experience symptoms like a general decrease in well being, fatigue, headache, and muscle and joint pains.
