The symptoms of blight on plum trees may differ depending on what fungus is attaching the tree. Commonly new shoots and leaves and buds will die off, mature leaves will begin to yellow on the veins. More commonly affecting plum trees is powdery fungus caused by pruning. It is not advised to prune plum trees as they are highly supcepptable.

Foliage will start to turn a black colour. The leaves and fruit will die. There may also be cankers at the base of infected twigs.

Signs that there is blight disease on plum trees is the darkening color of its twigs, leaves and flowers which look like being burnt. Another sign also is the appearance of small dead tissues in the twigs. Such symptoms are noticeable when temperatures dropped and soil is overly moist.

There would be a foggy white color on the plums, or beforehand, there would be a darker fungus type of growth visible under the leaves.
