ADD, not ADHD, is usually classified as the Innattentive Type. Symptoms of Inattentive Type include forgetfulness, daydreaming, and being distracted. You may constantly forget your keys, or lose track in the middle of a conversation. For a diagnosis, it's best to discuss your symptoms with a Physician or Doctor.

Most children are naturally a bit wild and pay attention less than we want them to. If your child is over 7 years old and still has trouble sitting still for more than a moment and can't focus at all that would be a good indicator to have them tested.

ADD, or Attention Deficit Disorder, is different from ADHD by the sufferers not having traits of hyperactivity or impulsiveness. This being said, those with ADD often ignore or have difficulty understanding relevant information, but they do not act out abnormally and show excessive amounts of energy. The two terms of ADD and ADHD are somewhat different, but are used interchangeably.
