What are the stages of cervical cancer?

A friend of mine has just been diagnosed.

Cervical cancer is stage 0-4. Stage 0, precancerous cells (may become cancer if not removed). Stage 1, cancer has not left cervical wall. Stage 2, cancer shows signs of leaving cervix. Stage 3, cancer starting to leave cervix. Stage 4, cancer has spread to other organs.

Stage 0: abnormal cells stage 1: Cancer in cervix, stage 2: Cancer spread beyond cervix, stage 3: Cancer in vagina and pelvic wall, stage 4: Cancer in bladder, rectum, etc.

CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) is expressed as C-1 through C-3. Grades are 1-3 and stages from 0 to IV, with subdivisions such as IA, IVB, etc.
